Thika Town MP Alice Ng'ang'a has asked the National Land Commission together with the County Government of Kiambu to fast-track the issuance of title deeds to the residents of Kisii area in Makongeni.
Speaking in the area yesterday when she attended a security meeting organized by residents, Ng'ang'a said that the residents are unable to do anything in the land as they don't have the appropriate documents to prove ownership.
"I know that this is a very potential area with potential people but you are being held back because you lack titles", said Ng'ang'a. The MP added that she will use her office to help solve the land problem facing the residents.
She further asked the area chief Daniel Waiguru to take a record of those who have been selling land so as residents are not duped.
"The problem of buying a plot here is that you can be sold a land belonging to other people. Let us moreso know the sellers of land here", she added. Ng'ang'a also promised to ensure that security is beefed up seeing that cases of insecurity have been on the rise recently.
