An MP in Kiambu County has promised to construct more classes in schools in his constituency to accommodate the high number of students and pupils enrolling in the schools.

Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina while speaking on Tuesday in Thika Town when he met with principals drawn from the various secondary schools in the constituency promised to provide a conducive environment for learners and teachers to realize good results. "I will allocate more CDF funds to various schools in the region for the construction of more classrooms to accommodate more students and pupils who have enrolled since the government started offering free day primary and secondary education," he said.The MP called on school heads in the area to utilize the funds well once they are disbursed to their schools to ensure projects in the schools are completed before new projects are initiated. Wainaina stated that he will not condone school heads who will divert money aimed for development to their pockets. "Any school head who will be found embezzling public money will not be spared. Such people will be sacked, arrested and prosecuted. I wish to urge school heads to maintain high levels of integrity in managing public funds," he noted.
