The executive member said that she will ensure despite the changes in climate, the county venture fully into the farming which, according to her, has proved productivity in the better areas which received enough rainfall.
She added that the farmers in the semi-arid areas who have been experiencing the challenges in food security will benefit from the green houses and plans are underway to launch a water system to help them irrigate their crops in the small-scale production of the crops.
The county has, since Tuesday, disbursed green houses worth Sh20 million which are expected to boost farming in the semi-arid areas and large-scale farming.
Waiganjo promised to forward a proposal for the provision of seedlings to the farmers by the county government in the next financial year.
