Speaking in Thika town on Tuesday, the Kiambu community policing unit Chairman, Charles Owila, said they have partnered with TDBA to make sure the police officers stay comfortably while they enhance the security of the residents.

Owila said that they will begin by building a perimeter wall along the Thika police station to create a good image of the police station.

He added that plans are underway to open approved school for the minors in Thika as the minors need taming too.

“Cases of minors getting involved in crime are on the rise in Thika thus if need be, we will ensure an approved school is built in the area in partnership with Thika leaders to help correct our future generation,” said Owila.

TDBA secretary general, Samuel Njoroge, during the same meeting praised the community policing unit for ensuring the security of the Thika traders is well protected.

Njoroge challenged Thika west OCPD Francis Muthamia to unite the residents and if need be organize a road show to spear head community policing in Thika.

He further praised the Chairman of Thika sub-County Makongeni community policing Charles Owila for coming up with initiatives that will assist Thika to move in a positive direction.
