Thika residents will soon stop moving from office to office across the town seeking for government services as Huduma Centre services are about to be launched in the town.
The good news was announced on Tuesday by the Huduma Centre Services Chief Operating Officer Katee Mwanza who made a surprise visit to the facility to check on the ongoing construction.
Mwanza said that the centre is complete adding the contractor was just doing the final touches.
"I have checked into the facility and I can promise Thika residents that it is just a matter of days before the centre becomes operational," said Mwanza.
He said that they had intended to have the centre running by the end of last year but technical hitches delayed the opening.
"This time round as you can see, a Huduma Centre will be operational in Thika town for the first time," he said.
Mwanza said that with the opening of the centre residents will be able to apply for birth certificates, passports, ID cards, certificate of good conduct, marriage certificates among others all under one roof and without delay.
The Huduma Centre is located opposite Thika Sub-County Stadium.
