Thika town legislator Alice Ng’ang’a has asked residents to help the less fortunate members in the society during this festive season.

Speaking after visiting various children’s homes in Thika today, the lawmaker said that the festive season should be used to remember the poor.

She said that helping the less fortunate should be a noble idea of every Kenyan saying that we are all one.

“Kenyans should be use the festive season to help the needy such as those who are disabled, orphans, street children and others,” she said.

The MP said that the essence of christmas is to share and show love to the poor and other disadvantaged members in the society.

The lawmker said that she will continue to fight for the rights of the disadvantaged groups saying that the constitution recognizes their rights and fredoms.

Ng’ang’a said that through proper legislations and policies, the rights and welfare of the disadvantaged and marginalized groups will be safeguarded.

The lawmaker at the same time commended the police for conducting intensive patrols during the christmas day saying that the patrols should continue ahead of the new year celebrations.

The legislator called on residents to remain vigilant and help the police as they fight criminals across the Thika sub county.
