The repainting is currently ongoing, causing traffic delays but residents and motorists appreciate the work being done. The residents are now crossing the roads comfortably and the motorists respect the traffic signs that are now visible.

Kiambu roads executive Njeri Gatabaki said efforts they plan to have the work done in the shortest time possible. Speaking last week when she said the repainting would be done, Gatabaki said residents can get the value of the taxes they pay instead of worrying over their safety.

John Wafula, a student in Thika town, said that he was pleased to see the progress. He said that the country will develop very fast if all counties gave themselves a work plan.

Ndarugu ward MCA Simon Komu in an earlier interview said that the county roads would be upgraded since they were devolved.

“In every place you will visit in Kiambu County, you will be able to note the work done on our roads. We will ensure that the residents see the need of a devolved government,” Komu said.
