Speaking to news reporters after attending a security meeting at Kimuchu Primary School on Wednesday, the MP alleged that criminals and terror agents are using Thika as a transit to commit their crimes.

The MP said that security agencies must intensify their patrols and serveillance in order to arrest criminals.

“Thika town is slowly being turned into a transit and assembling ground for criminals and terror agents, our security agencies must work tirelessly and unravel the criminals,” she said.

The lawmaker urged law enforcers across Thika to dedicate their time and guarantee security of locals.

To support her claims, the MP  cited a case where a middle aged man was nabbed with explosives in Makongeni last month.

She alleged that the  man was caught in a house in Makongeni with explosives. She also cited a case where three Muslim ladies were arrested on their way to Garissa early this month  alleging that the ladies had slept in Thika and were on their way to Somalia.

Ng’ang’a noted that the cases are a clear indication that criminals want to turn Thika into a breeding ground, a move she said will not work so long as she is the area MP.

The legilator said that the sub county security committee is working with the county and the national government on security matters.

She added that the sub county will implement all security measures being formulated by the national government.

The MP urged Thika residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious characters to the police.
