James Kimondo, a cybercafé owner spoke in his establishment today about the advancement. Kimondo said that they were sure to make monetary gains because the increased and reliable speed of the internet would fetch more customers.

“We will be able to deliver to our customers more efficiently. At times we would lose customers who would see the surfing of my cyber slow. One could not even use Skype effectively because of the slow speed internet connection, when orange upgrades its network in Thika we are sure it’s going to earn more and we are also going to benefit,” Kimondo said.

Kimondo and other business owners like him see this as an opportunity for Thika to become a digital town. The sub county headquarters had also been installed with internet, which residents foresee as an indication of more high quality service to come in the future.
