Thika MP Eng.Patrick Wainaina has promised to light up all homes in the constituency before the end of the year.

Speaking to residents in Thika Town  on Sunday, the MP asked locals who are yet to be connected to the power supply to register their names with his office urgently.

The Independent MP said that he is working closely with the national government to make sure locals are connected to power.

Wainaina said that lighting up the constituency will encourage 24 hour economy.

He noted that with a 24 hour economy, local’s will be guaranteed of jobs and good business.

“I want every homestead to be connected to power before the year ends and on this I am asking locals who are yet to be supplied with electricity to register with my office,” he said.

The MP also said that lighting up the area will reduce crime.

He said that criminals have been taking advantage of the darkness to continue their 'evil' deeds.

The MP, however, cautioned residents to be wary of conmen who will take advantage of the initiative to fleece them money.

He said that he will fund the project using the Constituency Development Fund kitty.

Wainaina asked local’s to support him as he puts in place proper measures  that will guarantee development.
