Thika United players during a past match.([Photo/Futaa.com)The drama surrounding the planned Kenya Premier League playoff pitting Thika United and Ushuru Fc tooka a new twist on Wednesday after the former moved back to court seeking to have the two-two-legged fixture scrapped off.The latest move comes barely a day after the Sports Disputes Tribunal gave FKF the greenlight to have the playoffs played after throwing out an appeal by the milkmen on Tuesday.However,according to Thika United advocate,Wahome Njagi,the club has gone back to court to seek a review of the decision saying it was unsatisfactory.The tribunal in dismissing the petition argued that Thika did not fully declare the facts for their prayer to have the matches shelved,the club in their latest prayer argue that the tribunal did not consider all the relevant facts presented and ignored explanations presented therein.However,according to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO Robert Muthomi,they are yet to receive any injunctions stopping the first leg of the match slated for Thursday,December 21 (Today) and as such they will be proceeding with the fixture."Thika United went back seeking a review and ee are all advised of the same,but then the Tribunal has not issues any orders for us to call off the game.With that I can confirm the tie is on,all the plans for the first leg are in place abd the referees have also been appointed," he said.The playoffs has been a controversial affair with Thika maintaining that they did not receive any information regrading it at the beginning of the 2017 season.However, according to FKF the team that finishes third last in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) has to play the team that finishes third in the National Super League (NSL) to determine who features in the new KPL season.Thika finished sixteenth in the recently concluded KPL campaign to evade automatic relegation while Ushuru were third in the NSL campaign.
