Thika United head coach Nicholas Muyoti has denied claims that he threw a punch at Gor Mahia striker Timothy Otieno during his side's match against Kogalo.

The match ended in a one all draw on Sunday.

Muyoti is accused of punching Otieno during a melee on the pitch as the two sets of players clashed.

The technical bench members had to intervene to calm the situation.

"I have been a player and now a coach and there are things I cannot do. I ran to the pitch to prevent the players from fighting because tempers were flaring so it's ridiculous to claim that I beat up a player. The match was heated because both teams wanted the points but punching a player or even anyone on the pitch is something I have never done, he said.
