Thika United will on Wednesday travel to the Kericho Green Stadium to face off with league debutants Muhoroni Youth in their second last match of the season.
The milkmen who have currently placed sixteenth on the log must win the match in order to revive any hopes of remaining afloat in the top flight league.
A win for seventeenth placed Western Stima over Posta Rangers on Saturday compounded Thika's struggles after the electrician leveled points separating them.
Worse still for the Nicholas Muyoti side is the fact that their last match is against a revived Bandari side.
Fifteenth-placed Zoo, on the other hand, are only two draws away from safety and may not have so many worries to deal with.
Muyoti is, however, expected to retain his side that thumped Tusker Fc last weekend. The same could also go for the hosts.
