It is now official that Thika United will once again be present in the 2018 Kenya Premier League campaign after drawing blanks with Ushuru on Sunday at the Narok Stadium in a playoff match.

The first leg ended 2-1 in favour of the milkmen thereby giving them an advantage.

And on Sunday,Thika began the match om a high note threatening to score from time to time. The ferocity of the attacks saw Thika win two successive freekicks although Sammy Mejja delivered rather weak shots that did not trouble Ushuru custodian Kennedy Obwoga.

Obwoga was once more called into action on the 23rd minute following a Saad Tsuma rasping shot that he agonizingly saved.

Eugene Mukangula wasted a glorious chance to put Thika on the lead when he failed to tap home from close range with Obwoga off his line.

The taxmen came back a more determined side and almost grabbed a lead through Patrick Macharia but Eliud Emase was at the right place to save matters.

The game swung from end to end with none of the teams getting the better of the other. With the clock quickly ticking towards the end,Thika changed strategy and opted to defend the draw which they successfully did to the end.

The blow now means Ushuru will spend another season at the National Super League.
