Thika west bodaboda operators have been warned and denied access to operating during the night following a public outcry of increased insecurity in that area.
Speaking in a public Baraza today, the irked area district commissioner Solomon Komen condemned the upsurge of insecurity brought by alleged bodaboda operators who were said to be nabbing, stealing and even harassing people at night in the area.
‘Bodaboda operators there will be no business beyond 11:00 pm; we cannot keep on seeing insecurity demolish our developments,’ he said.
The leader further decried increase in use of bhang and other drugs in the area attributing the increase to the laxity of area chief.
“Chief from Kanyenyaini you are not supposed to be sitting in that office, how can bhang be sold outside your door without taking any action to stop the sale? We are also going to interrogate you and if you’re found corrupt, we are going to kick you out of office,’ he angrily commented.
The area OCPD Daniel Chacha also rebuked the area chief of helping the upsurge of insecurity terming the act as uncouth. He challenged parents in the area not to address him after arrest of their children offenders.
“Parents you have all the chances to make changes in your children, don’t approach us after the arrest of your child,” he sadly remarked.
Insecurity in the area has been wanting and some residents were already planning peaceful demonstration to the DC office in search of a change.
The parents commended the district commissioner move to remove the chief from office where they echoed the words of their leader.
