Kenya Premier League side Thika United tactician Nicholas Muyoti has exuded confidence that the milkmen will bounce back from their 2017 disappointing campaign and register impressive results in the impending 2018 season.
This is after the club survived a KPL playoff to remain in Kenya's top flight league.
Key to this, Muyoti said, lies in finding replacements for the club's crucial players Suleiman Ngotho and Wilson Anekeya who last week dumped the club for Posta Rangers and AFC Leopards respectively.
Speaking to local sports website, Soka on Monday, the former Kenyan international said his main focus is to solidify his defence and sharpen his offensive front which he singled out as one of the team's biggest drawbacks adding that the exit of the two attackers was a further blow.
"We have lost two key players and we are in the process of getting good players to replace them.Anekeya and Ngotho were key for us last season and so we had to keenly examine the players we intend to bring in as replacements. We are already in talks with them and I believe we will finalize this soon and move on to other preseason duties," he said.
The club is currently holding its preseason trials and is hoping to sign a few more talents from the exercise ahead of the new season.
Thika had a disappointing 2017 season that saw them finish third bottom above Muhoroni Youth and Western Stima although they were lucky to avoid direct relegation.
