Writing a story is a broad concept. Many forms of writing include making up a story. This is evident in comic books, comic strips, many books, and scripting. All films revolve around a story. So, how hard is it to write a story?
Designing the characters is the most important part of a story. The characters drive the story. Is the character an alcoholic, preacher, sadist, murderer, street urchin, short-tempered or annoying.
It's not enough to just design a character. You have to develop them so they are 'strong'. So strong a character can be that the audience knows what they like to eat, what decisions they make, how they like to dress and even what their favorite ice cream flavor is (depending on the story).
Well, a writer has to also identify what emotion is going to drive the theme of the story. Is it sadness, grief, humor, horror or adventure. A story can experience many emotions. However, a story tends to lean on certain emotions more than others.
Depending on the creativity and drive of the writer, the story starts to unfold. The description of events is up to the writer's feelings and desire.
