McDonald Mariga and Victor Wanyama are two Kenyan footballers who are making history in the football industry abroad. Here are some facts you did not know about these two players:

1. They both play international football. MacDonald Mariga plays as a defensive midfielder for Spanish club Real Oviedo while Victor Wanyama plays as a defensive midfielder for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and captains Kenya national soccer team.

2. They are brothers. MacDonald Mariga is actually the elder brother of Victor Wanyama.

3. They both have made history. Mariga made history as the first Kenyan footballer to play in the UEFA Champions League, for Internazionale on 16 March 2010 while Victor Wanyama became the first ever Kenyan player to score in the UEFA Champions League when he scored the first goal in Celtic's 2–1 win over Barcelona on 7 November 2012.

4. They both started training and playing football while in Kenya. Having both attended the same high school Kamukunji High School. They both started their football talent and training in Kenya.

5. They both come from a sporting family and have support to their home team. Their father, Noah Wanyama was a left winger and played for A.F.C. Leopards and the Kenya national football team.Their younger sister Mercy was the captain of the Lang'ata High School basketball team and previously played football and netball.
