Thirdway Alliance Party of Kenya has asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to cancel the ballot printing tender awarded to a Dubai firm, Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing Company. This, they say will prevent any violence from erupting in the country.

In a statement, Thursday, Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot has warned IEBC that they will be responsible for any consequence that may occur from the forthcoming august polls.

The statement came a day after the National Super Alliance (Nasa) claimed that the Dubai-based firm was linked to Jubilee Party officials.

“We, the Thirdway Alliance Party of Kenya, put IEBC chairman, Commissioners and senior Management on notice that they are responsible for any consequence that may result from the conduct of the upcoming polls,” read part of the statement.

“Particularly, we inform them that Kenyans will hold them responsible for any violence and disruptions that may result from a rigged election,” added the statement.

“We also put the Jubilee Party, and the person of President Uhuru Kenyatta together with his family members herein implicated on notice that they have no business responding on behalf of IEBC unless they are now in bed with IEBC in the unfolding attempt at subverting the elections process.”

Aukot now wants the tender to be awarded to an independent firm and the tender process be supervised by the United Nations.
