Bungoma senator Moses Wetang'ula has warned that Kenya will pay a heavy price should the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) conduct the August elections in an unfair manner.
Accompanied by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other NASA-leaning politicians when he received his clearance in Nairobi, the legislator warned IEBC that the opposition will not accept any rigging.
He warned that any attempts to allow the vice will plummet the country into serious trouble.
“The IEBC should ensure a free and fair process, failing which the country will land in trouble,” he said.
He also warned the police force against being manipulated by Jubilee to intimidate and curtail the opposition.
Wetang'ula claimed that Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery is currently being used by NCIC boss Francis ole Kaparo to block free speech in the country.
“We want to warn Kaparo that his role is not to deprive us of our fundamental right of freedom of speech,” Wetang’ula said.
In his Bungoma backyard, Wetang'ula will battle it out for the senatorial seat against Jubilee’s Juma Mukhwana, ANC’s David Makali and NASA's Bonny Nyongesa (ODM).
