[Photo: IEBC]The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has indicated it will not suspend the ballot papers tender, issued to the Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing Company.This follows calls by the National Super Alliance (Nasa), accusing President Uhuru Kenyatta's family and his Jubilee administration of influencing the tendering process to the Dubai-based firm.Led by presidential candidate Raila Odinga, Nasa wants the tender cancelled and be awarded to another firm, even as August 8 elections near.However, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati has warned that time is not sufficient to start the tendering process afresh.He said the only way the Commission can stop the tender, is by a Kenyan citizen going to Court to challenge the process.According to him, this will however paralyse the Commission's operations of preparing for the polls."We are all aware that a Kenyan can move to court to stop the tendering process. But with only 47 days remaining to the election date, court processes will with doubt affect the election," Chebukati told the press, Wednesday, June 21.Nasa announced it would move to Court Thursday June 22, to stop the process.
