This is not the first incident where 'family affair' politics have played out in Kenyan politics. This comes after powerful political families continue to dominate in the political scene.
Both Jubilee and Opposition have been accused of auctioning leadership positions and have turned into family businesses.
It has now been revealed that Francis Nyenze's wife Edith is blood sister to his Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua.
Edith Nyenze was first endorsed by a section of NASA leaders during her husband burial.
The first time lawmaker played a significant role to see her sister clinch wiper nomination ticket. Edith was battling it out with Maluki Mwendwa. Maluki Mwendwa's parents have also served as MPs in Kitui West.
Enoch played as the family spokesman and master of ceremony during Late Francis Nyenze's burial in Kitui.
Many of the Kenyans have a thought that family affair has dominated the Kitui West by-election politics.
Edith has also received a major boost after Jubilee party on Saturday morning endorsed her candidature ahead of March by-election.
Enoch Kiio Wambua worked for the Standard Media Group before being given a ‘political pass’ by the late Francis Nyenze.
It is believed that Nyenze mentored him and passed him off as the man best placed to take up the senatorial post. Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho was bashed after he appointed his brother, Mohammed Amir as the head of the county inspectorate.
