Former TNA secretary general Onyango Oloo, who decamped to ODM recently, has revealed details of how Jubilee rigged the 2013 polls to see President Uhuru Kenyatta beat Raila Odinga.
Oloo had threated to spill the beans when he officially joined Raila’s camp during a rally in Kisumu. He was received by the Opposition chief.
In an interview with the Standard, Oloo mentioned Tiaty constituency, where votes garnered by Uhuru were inflated to over 51,000 from 18,000 by the returning officer.
“It is not a secret that the election was stolen. Figures were blown here and there, but I do not want to divulge much on this because it is not necessary at this point. I was the Secretary General of a party and my mandate then was to help secure the presidency for my party,” Oloo told the Standard.
He said the entire Jubilee team was in panic mode after Raila’s Cord moved to the Supreme Court to challenge the outcome of the 2013 presidential election.
“We were holding our breath because what we feared most was going for a re-run with a person of Raila’s calibre and energy. We were lucky that the Supreme Court declined evidence from the opposition during the presidential election petition,” he said in the interview.
Oloo said Cord lost the election also due to poor campaign and nomination management, and promised to help Raila win this year’s August polls.
“I will be available to help address these,” Oloo said.
