Kenyan musician Akothee has hit the headlines once again after revealing that artists have to part with Sh1 million for them to do a collabo with her.

Akothee, who lost her unborn twins a few months ago, said that she does not waste time working with artists who are not ready to invest money in their music.

Speaking to Citizen Radio Presenter Willy M Tuva, Akothee revealed that she paid Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz Sh1.5M for the song Sweet Love and she does not expect any less from other artists.

The wealthy and talented singer also cautioned Kenyan artists against rushing into recording deals without knowing what they getting themselves into.

“As artistes we don’t have to rush into signing deals with record labels, we can make our own money using social media,” she told Tuva as quoted by Tuko.

According to Akothee, any artist who is not in a position to raise this amount should not ask her for a collabo.

“Don’t settle for less. As for me don’t call if you can’t afford to raise Sh1 million for a collabo,” she added.

The popular artist also rubbished claims that she depends on the so called sponsors to create her music empire.
