A six-member team lead by economist David Ndii is preparing a power sharing pact that will see NASA leaders come together ahead of the next general elections.
This is in a bid to choose the best Presidential candidate among the several hopefuls in the alliance.
The team is expected to table their report in a week's time.
Among the tasks at hand is to come up with a formula to hold nominations for the presidential candidate as well as other rules for nominating candidates in other elective positions.
Others in the team include Dan Ameyo (chairman of Mumias Sugar Company), Abubakar Zein (East African Legislative Assembly member), Koitamet ole Kina (public policy expert) and Norman Magaya (Cord Secretariat executive director).
The last member of the panel is a lady nominee fronted by Ford Kenya party.
Another inclusion in the high-profile team is Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu.
The team is secretly working under the leadership of a political elite group headed by senators James Orengo (Siaya) and Johnson Muthama (Machakos)
Orengo on Sunday declined to delve into the matter, saying that their operations were confidential at the moment.
“These are not matters to be discussed anyhow. They are highly confidential and very sensitive,” he said.
“The committee is working on the proposed structures, framework for nominations both for president and other positions,” confided a member of the team as reported by Nation.
