Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has said Jubilee is ready to face the National Super Alliance (NASA) in the upcoming polls.
Speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday evening, the Senate’s deputy majority leader said they already know how NASA will line up.
Murkomen said the Opposition has already settled on ODM leader Raila Odinga as their presidential candidate and Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper as his running mate.
“NASA people are taking us in circles. We know Raila Odinga will be the candidate (presidential). Kalonzo was being edged out as running mate but has fought hard,” Murkomen said.
The Jubilee allied senator also said there was confusion in NASA, hence the delay in announcing their flag bearer.
“They don’t know how to handle Musalia Mudavadi, who is supposedly more popular than Wetangula in Western,” he said.
He added, “The confusion in NASA is what we cured in Jubilee by making sacrifices and supporting the president and his deputy. There is no confusion in Jubilee.”
Murkomen said the four NASA co-principals were wasting their supporters’ time by playing public relations exercise.
He said the Opposition will line up just like they did in the 2013 general election.
“We are preparing for the competition with Raila Odinga. We know him, we know his game, there is nothing here we are wasting time on,” he said.
However, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale differed with Murkomen, saying Jubilee leaders were panicking for they did not know how NASA will line up.
“Listen keenly to the anxiety in the voice of Murkomen. They (Jubilee) don’t know how to handle us. They don’t know whether we shall give them Mudavadi, Wetangula, Muthama, Khalwale, Murgor…” Khalwale said.
Khalwale said the Opposition will name its presidential candidate soon.
