The governor has called upon bodaboda, tuktuk and matatu operators to deny services to residents who do not have voters cards.

Joho said voter registration is the only way citizens can change their destiny.

“I am appealing to bodaboda, tuktuk and matatu drivers to refuse to carry passengers who do not have voters cards because this is the only way we are going to change our destiny and the generation which will come after us,” said Joho, as quoted by Tuko.co.ke.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy leader also urged different county departments to ensure that they only serve residents with proof of registering as voters.

Both opposition and Jubilee leaders have been calling upon Kenyans to take part in the mass voter registration exercise ahead of the August polls.

This comes after Mombasa Woman Rep Mishi Mboko asked women to deny men their conjugal rights until they register as voters.
