Former presidential hopeful Martha Karua says she is not paying attention to politicians persuading her to dissolve her party and join Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.
Karua insists that Narc-Kenya party will not dissolve but will concentrate on fielding candidates in all other seats apart from presidency in 2017 polls.
The former Gichugu MP maintained that she will run for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat on her party despite supporting Jubilee's Uhuru Kenyatta in the presidential race.
"I am against the six-piece voting being championed by political party heads and my party will have aspirants in all other positions even in Jubilee strongholds and Kirinyaga where I will vie as governor," said Karua.
Karua and Kenya National Congress (KNC) Party leader Peter Kenneth, who has also endorsed Uhuru's reelection, have recently been put under pressure by Jubilee politicians who have asked them to dissolve their respective parties and join Jubilee.
“I am very happy that our friends can now see the light and have decided to join us. If you have decided to undress and jump into the Jubilee bath.Don’t be afraid of shedding your current party’s clothes so that we can all bathe together,” Water Cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa told the two leaders on Sunday.
Kieni MP Kanini Kega said the two would not be taken seriously in the run-up to the general election if they didn’t dissolve their parties for Jubilee.
“We have given them two weeks to convene a national delegates’ conference and unanimously agree to dissolve their parties,” said Kega.
