1. Examine the build quality

Take time and look at the handset you have versus the original. A good number of expensive phones on the market are designed using high-quality materials. However, it is not an assurance that the phone is original if it has the same appearance as the expensive one. This will only guide on whether you can continue with the examination or not.

 2. Check the site of the manufacturer

Visit the site of the manufacturer. On the site you will see the materials used in making the phone. Compare the materials and what you have with you.

3. Check the specifications

Original phones have the same specifications. Check the site to see the specifications of the device you want to acquire before going to the market to acquire one.Check the software: Fake phones are not Java capable. They use Android as their operating systems. Manufacturers of Iphone clones cannot use the IOS since it is restricted by Apple.

4. Check the serial number

The serial number can also be used to determine whether you have an original or fake phone. Check the serial number of the phone and compare the same with what you see on the website

5. Check your phone’s IMEI

Dial *#06# on your handset to display your IMEI. The system will verify whether the device is fake or original. If the phone displays information that is different from that on the handset then know it is fake.
