Photo/nation.co.keThe Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is expected to announce President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of Thursday's repeat poll once they finalize verifying the results.
Uhuru has garnered a whooping 98% of votes cast after ODM presidential candidate Raila Odinga pulled out of the late.
Raila told his supporters to boycott the poll.
This left Kenyatta with only his strongholds to brag about as he scored poorly in other areas (mostly those considered NASA zones) as voter turn out was very low.
The Opposition has dismissed the repeat poll terming it a sham.
Jubilee however has stuck to their 'victory' saying Raila sponsored a militia to disrupt polls hence the low turn out.
Also four counties of Kisumu, Migori, Siaya and Homabay are yet to vote after residents became too hostile for IEBC to conduct any poll. These counties would however have no impact on the winner as Uhuru is already at 6.4M votes as by Saturday.
According to the law, IEBC is supposed to announce the winner of a presidential contest within seven days after the poll is held.
This means the latest IEBC will announce the winner is on Thursday September 2.
