Commission for University Education Secretary Juma Mukhwana has said Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula stands a better chance of becoming Kenya’s next President.
The educationist urged the outspoken Senator not to bow out of the presidential race come 2017 because he has what it takes to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at Mabusi Catholic Church in Tongaren constituency during a fundraiser, Mukhwana said Wetangula has supported Raila for a long time and time had come for him to reciprocate.
Mukwana, who unsuccessfully vied for the Kabuchai parliamentary seat in 2013, said that will convince Governor Kenneth Lusaka in the Jubilee Party to vote for Wetangula as he looks forward to becoming the next president of the Republic of Kenya.
According to Mukwana, Bungoma County will not realize its goals if the senator and the governor continue pulling in different political directions.
He added it is disappointing for Wetangula to continue launching attack after attack against the county government instead of teaming up with the governor to develop the county as it looks forward to attaining vision 2030.
He pointed out that if he is given an opportunity to represent his people, he will revive cereal banks in the region to enable farmers store their produce safely after harvesting.
The fundraiser was also attended by MPs Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai), Webuye East's Dan Simiyu, Kimilili’s Dismus Barasa and Tongaren parliamentary aspirant Ben Chakwanda.
