The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has so far received 68,647 applications after it announced hiring of officers to help in voter registration, early 2017.
The figures were released on Monday December 12.
The electoral agency is looking for temporary registration officials to support the Constituency registration officers and Assistant registration officers in carrying out voter registration from January 16 to February 15, 2017.
IEBC said the applications close on Friday 16, December, and further advised Kenyans to avoid last minute rush by applying on time.
The Commission seeks to temporarily hire 1,775 voter registration assistants; 15, 686 voter registration clerks and 580 Constituency ICT clerks to facilitate the second phase of the voter registration exercise.
"The voter registration assistants and ICT clerks will be paid Ksh1,200 per day for the number of the days worked. The voter registration clerks will be paid Ksh1,000 per day for the number of the days worked. Applications must be made only through this online platform,'' said the Commission.
