Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has told the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party members to shun wrangles and instead focus on the August 8 elections.
On Saturday, Joho said the differences were a waste of time for the party whose key focus is forming the next government under NASA come August 9.
"Whenever the party leader (Raila Odinga) comes or goes somewhere, he has to address a meeting to reconcile leaders. Please, give our party leaders time to campaign," said Joho as reported by the Nation.
Joho made the remarks during a consultative meeting between all Coast ODM party aspirants and the National Elections Board that was chaired by Raila.
He added that the internal wrangles would be a disaster for the opposition.
The deputy party leader and Raila at the same time assured the aspirants that the nominations would be free, fair and transparent.
Raila assured the members that the party has no sacred cows.
"I therefore wish to assure all those interested in our party ticket that there are no sacred cows. We will do our very best to ensure that those who carry the party flag are indeed the choice of the people," Raila added.
On her part, elections board chairperson Judy Pareno said the party will not hesitate to disqualify aspirant anyone found who will interfere with the primaries slated for April.
