ODM leader Raila Odinga has said that the recently signed NASA MoU is more binding than what they had with Kalonzo Musyoka in 2013. The ODM leader has been handed the presidential ticket and is expected to form a transition government then hand over to the other four principals.
“This MoU has been made public and there is a total commitment,” Odinga said.
He also revisited his agreement with Kibaki that was thwarted. However, Raila blamed close allies to the retired president for taking advantage of his poor health to shortchange other partners in government.
“We were sympathetic to Kibaki but others took advantage of Kibaki’s situation,” he added.
The former Prime Minister downplayed the power sharing in NASA terming it constitutional. He said that the president has the mandate to delegate duties and that is what his presidency will do.
“Governance is about power. You can use power to mistreat your subject or diffuse it for the good of the people. We will create jobs,” Raila said.
Others in the coalition are Governor Isaac Ruto, Senator Moses Wetangula, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper chief Kalonzo Musyoka. They have vowed to remain united until they send Jubilee home.
