The National Super Alliance (NASA) intends to revive the cases that were facing President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto at the International Criminal Court (ICC), Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura has said.
Speaking when UhuRuto Express team took campaigns to Embu County, Mwaura urged Central Kenya residents to vote overwhelmingly for President Kenyatta next month to ensure NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga does not clinch the presidency.
“If you do not turn out to vote for Uhuru, the NASA team has vowed to bring back the ICC cases,” the MP said on Thursday.
Maragua MP Peter Kamande said the opposition leaders led by Raila are jealous of Jubilee’s development track record and would stall the major ongoing national projects if it wins the election.
"Raila is envious of Uhuru's successful projects. He will stop all Jubilee projects including the SGR, stipends for the elderly, and laptop distribution," Kamande said.
Kigumo lawmaker Jamleck Kamau advocated for peace during the electioneering period and called for 100% voter turnout.
“Kindly carry even the sick to the polling stations to cast their votes. We want a 100% turn out. At the same time, maintain peace as all we want is a peaceful election process,” Kamau said.
The team made stop overs at Kanyuambora, Ishiara, Kirie, Itira and Siakago.
Other legislators that graced the rally are Njogu Barua (Gichugu), Joseph Kiuna (Njoro), Muriuki Njagagua (Mbeere North) and Subukia MP Nelson Gaichuhie.
