Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has said his government is laying down strategies to see that the Gikomba Market is re-designed.
He said this after the Friday morning inferno that razed down a big section of the market.
The governor said they were going to put a fire engine in Kamukunji sub-county to help fight the fires in the future.
"We are planning to put up a fire fighting engine at the the Kamukunji sub-county office and that will be on stand by in case of a fire outbreak," Sonko said.
He also said they were going to liaise with traders at the market and include efforts of both the national and county governments to curb future cases of infernos.
