The Jubilee party is keen on conducting fair and peaceful nominations ahead of the coming general elections set for August.According to the Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Jubilee will not allow its primaries to be marred with cases of violence.Speaking at Multimedia University Nairobi Friday,Tuju cautioned that any aspirant found guilty of such an act will be immediately disqualified from the race or have their membership revoked.”We will not allow any person to bring chaos into our nominations and if any aspirant is found guilty of involving in acts of violence will face dire consequences including being disqualified from vying on the Jubilee ticket,” said Tuju.He said that the party will go a step further, in collaboration with the national polls body IEBC, to ensure that all those disqualified do not get the opportunity of vying using any other political vehicle.”We have consulted with the IEBC officials and they have agreed with us that whoever is found guilty will not be allowed to vie even on an independent ticket,” he said. This comes amid fears of possible violence eruption especially in the party strongholds where clinching a Jubilee ticket is considered winning the election.
