In a rare spectacle, the late Eldoret Catholic diocese Bishop Cornelius Korir was on Saturday buried inside the Sacred Heart Cathedral where he served for the past 27 years.

This was in line with the Catholic Church Code of Canon law which provides that a bishop who dies while still serving should be buried inside the Cathedral.

Very few leaders and not more than 200 people were allowed inside the cathedral where the body was laid to rest in a special tomb.
