Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga quest to rise to power has been marred with all sorts of challenges. One of the greatest mistakes the former prime minister made his political career is letting Deputy William Ruto walk away from his camp.

Ruto’s greatest desire was to see Raila rise to power, but little did he know the fight will land him at the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICC) at The Hague.

Politics is a dirty game. The opposition leader could have strived by all means to keep Ruto by his side for the sake of his Presidential dream.

The deputy President is among the most loyal leaders in the political arena. Nobody ever thought that Ruto will stand with Uhuru after his case at the ICC is terminated.

Besides leaving Ruto to walk away, Raila has differed with Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka at a time when he needed them the most.

Recently, the former Prime minister refused to honor a Memorandum of Understanding he made between his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Wiper Party as he was seeking Presidency.

It is hard for leaders in the National Super Alliance to trust the former prime minister anymore. Raila is among the leaders who cannot be predicted, which has made many politicians cautious about him.
