US President Barack Obama has said he and his family will remain in Washington, D.C., after vacating the White House in January 2017.
According to Politico, the Obamas will be leasing a house from former White House Press Secretary Joe Lockhart when president-elect Donald Trump moves into the White House in early 2017.
The family plans on staying put in DC after inauguration day until their youngest daughter, Sasha, graduates from high school.
They'll be trading the White House for a luxurious brick mansion in the upscale DC neighborhood of Kalorama, just two miles away.
The nine-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bath home was built in 1928 and was last sold for Sh530 million in May 2014.
The home is now estimated to be worth Sh643 million.
This makes President Obama the first president to stay in DC after his term since Woodrow Wilson in 1921.
