A section of clerics from Kisii have asked Former Senator Johnson Muthama to apologize after claiming that the opposition will swear in National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate if Jubilee does the same to President Uhuru Kenyatta following the rerun.
The clerics want Muthama and Siaya Senator James Orengo to apologize to the entire nation for the remarks.
The servants of God argue that the remarks are likely to plunge the nation into chaos if the leaders do not come out an apologize to the Kenyans.
Led by Kisii Diocese Rt. Rev. Joseph Mairura, the leaders said that the politicians should come out and apologize for the sake of peace.
"We as church leaders are so much in pain with the ongoing political tension and our hearts broke more when senior counsel Orengo and Muthama said they will swear in Raila when they know very well that can lead to unending civil war," said Mairura.
In the meantime, the leader of the opposition, Raila Amolo Odinga has accused Jubilee of hatching a plot to cling on power through unconstitutional means.
The opposition leader said that the rerun’s outcome will not reflect the will of the people of Kenya.
