Having failed to attend a media briefing led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday, Machakos county Senator Johnson Muthama has come clear of the rumours in the air saying that Cord press conference was more important than Wiper’s meeting.
The senator who missed his party's meeting to and instead chose to address a Cord press conference alongside his Siaya counterpart James Orengo, said the opposition's stand on the IEBC and its preparations for next year’s elections cuts across all party's and thus deemed more important.
“I was not at the Wiper meeting because what is happening here is more important than what they are discussing there,” the senator told journalists at ACapitol Hill.
This comes in the wake of Wiper Party's leader Kalonzo Musyoka having given Muthama a public dressing-down at Sultan Hamud over the weekend noting that the senator was causing political divisions in the larger Ukambani region.
The party's NEC meeting was a success and the leaders insisted on Kalonzo being Cord's flag bearer in the coming 2017 elections.
