According to the Sunday Nation, the meeting was  attended by Mr Oparanya, Butere Member of Parliament Andrew Toboso and Mr Oparanya's Chief of Staff Nabii Nabwera.

"Yes, Dr Otuoma met the party leader on Tuesday night to discuss some of the issues he has been complaining about. They met at Mr Oparanya's home on Tuesday night and he explained in detail his grievances," Mr Toboso said.

According to Toboso, Dr Otuoma who early this month stepped down as ODM Vice Chairman had raised his fears that the party's nomination exercise in Busia will not be free and fair due to what her termed the Ojaamong factor.

"Raila assured Otuoma that the exercise will be free and fair. He told him that the best he could do was to campaign aggressively among the electorate to get the ticket if he carries the day," Toboso added.

However, on Saturday the Funyula MP was quick to criticise Odinga for undermining him and Ababu Namwamba during his five-day tour of Western, during which he endorsed Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong' for the county's top seat in 2017.
