The leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale has defended Jubilee administration’s track record in the past four years.
Duale says President Uhuru Kenyatta deserves a second term in office to finalise his development agenda for the country.
The Garissa Township MP said Jubilee has constructed 6,500 kilometres of tamarc roads across the country, improved healthcare and laid infrastructure to ensure double digits economic growth.
“Some of the achievements include free maternal healthcare, road construction,” he said on Citizen TV on Tuesday evening.
The Jubilee leader also said that the government has improved security within the country.
“Jubilee reduced the ratio of police to citizens.”
He said Uhuru will outline all achievents of his administration in today’s State of the Nation address in Parliament.
However, ODM MP Jakoyo Midiwo dismissed Duale’s statements, saying Jubilee had failed in most of its promises to Kenyans.
Midiwo said the country’s economy has withered under Uhuru’s administration.
“We do not think much has changed with the Jubilee government. The cost of Unga is now Sh145 from Sh 80 four years ago,” he said
“They tell us they have built roads. Where are the roads?” he asked.
The MP also criticised the Standard Gauge Railway project, saying it was overpriced.
“SGR project is the most expensive project that has been undertaken in Africa,” he said.
