United Nations world data shows that women live longer than men. The report indicates that women live on an average of 4 ½ years longer compared to men. For instance, in the nation of Singapore, women have proven to live four times longer than men. This is one of the reasons why researchers have invested time and effort in trying to understand why women do not die at the same age as men not only in the developed nations but also developing nations such as those in the African continent.
In reference to Dr Kaysar Mamun, women live longer because they suffer less oxidative stress. The scholar argues that men are presented with many stressful situations that make them die earlier compared to women.
Secondly, it has been proven that heart diseases start earlier in men than women. Heart-related complications are among the leading killers in the entire world. Men are considered more vulnerable to heart-related issues in comparison to men.
Thirdly, women’s double X chromosomes make them more immune compared to men, some studies argue. Men are born with the XY chromosome combination, which makes them weaker compared to women if studies are anything we can go by. There so called the testosterone storm commonly affects young men when they are still in their 20’s making them more vulnerable to different health complications during their early stages of life.
