Alfred Keter, the Nandi Hills MP who lost his parliamentary seat on March 1st, has been of public interest, starting from his arrest due to allegedly faking treasury bills.
First, a few days before the nullification of his election, Keter was arrested and stayed in police custody over two days. This was after he was allegedly accused of faking treasury bills worth more than six hundred and twenty million.
Either, the Nandi Hills MP is the one who revived the bill in Parliament that mainly targeted for Ann Waiguru resignation as the Cabinet Secretary for Devolution. Keter was for the motion and according to him, the removal of Waiguru was according to God's will. This was back in 2015, when Waiguru was accused of graft worthy millions.
Despite the fact that Alfred Keter was a Jubilee MP in the first government of Uhuru Kenyatta, he stood again the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) . For Keter, the construction of the SGR was too expensive and would encourage embezzlement of public funds. In addition, he said that the construction of the SGR railway had shadowy expenses that were overestimated to benefit some individuals.
Noticeably, in the recent past, Keter was against the order of Jubilee party to carry out elections on the new parliamentary committee Representatives. However, the directive to carry out elections of the nominees, which was given by the party leader and the President of Kenya, took place later after some time of disagreement between the party's legislators.
Evidently, Alfred Keter is one politician who, from his actions, supports or moves against any motion regardless of his political affiliation.
