Education CS Fred Matiang'i has said that this year's KCPE exams are credible.
Speaking during a tour of Jomo Kenyatta Primary School in Msambweni, Kwale County on Thursday, Matiang'i said the measures put to safeguard the exams all across the country had succeeded and there was no worry on their credibility.
Matiang'i was doing one of his rounds to ensure that things run smoothly in whole examination period.
"There has been no major challenge so far. I am now currently receiving feedback from all school heads and I can tell you they are also happy about the measures that were put to curb cheating in the country. For sure this year's KCPe exams are credible," said Matiang'i.
This comes after the interaction between outsiders and students was banned.
He also congratulated Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa who banned the supply of free food to students during the exam period. However, Matiang'i was perturbed by the Kisauni case where a teacher was arrested for allegedly leaking KCPE exams to students.
He said stern action will be taken against the teacher if found guilty.
