Residents of Landimawe in Nairobi are still pondering losses after the county government destroyed their business premises overnight due to road encroachment issues.

The incident which came without notice caught residents unawares although they had previously been warned about the matter and told to move.

Hundreds of 'Kibandas' were destroyed in the event at Workshop Road to the surprise of many.

"We woke up ready for work as usual but arriving here my small hotel had been destroyed with everything inside, this is the last thing our Governor Sonko could have done to us small business people who depend on this 'Kibanda' to pay rent and feed our families," said one Mary Wangui who used to run a hotel at Workshop road off Bunyala road.

Area MP Njagua Kanyi couldn't be reached for comment since he flew out of the country to attend Mowzey Radio burial in Uganda.
