The residents arrived at the Grounds as early as 7am to wait for the arrival of the body from Kisumu International Airport.

Emotions ran wild as the casket bearing the body of Kajwang was driven into the Grounds where an interdenominational prayer session was held by various religious leaders.

CORD leader Raila Odinga who led politicians to mourn Kajwang said the demise of the late Senator has dealt a big blow to his ODM party.

Odinga assured his supporters that a better replacement for Kajwang will be found very soon.

“There will be a replacement of Kajwang, we knew how loyal he was, we must find another better replacement," he told the crowd.

He further thanked the Jubilee administration for the help they gave out following the death of Kajwang.

Other political leaders who addressed the crowd alleged that the late Senator was killed by unknown forces and the claim of cardiac arrest was a ploy.

Siaya Governor and Homa Bay Governor Cornel Rasanga and Cyprian Awiti respectively alleged that Kajwang did not die a natural death.

Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama said it was suspect that CORD Senators are the only ones dying citing the death of Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo.

“We are tired of these deaths. Why is it that only CORD Senators who dying?” He asked.

Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro also made the same remarks noting that they will not be deterred by the demise of Kajwang.
