Two men and a woman were on Sunday arrested for allegedly stealing Sh 47,000 from a friend who they were enjoying a drink with on Sunday evening.
This happened at Nyabiosi village, Kisii County and area assistant chief Benjamin Ayuma said that the money belonged to a man only identified as Oira.
"This happened after he sold his parcel of land and decided to take his friends out for a drink. The victim then reported to nyumba kumi officials who arrested the suspect," said the chief.
Mr Ayuma then said that the suspects accepted to have made away with the money.
The money was eventually recovered and handed over to the owner.
The admnistrator then warned locals not to sell their land carelessly without following the required procedures.
"We shall arrest such people who engage in illegal business and ensure that they are charged in court," he said.
